Diploma in Sustainable Construction (EduQual Level 5)

The we Diploma in Aerodynamics, Propulsion and Space is a 40 credit course leading to the qualification of:

Diploma in Aerodynamics, Propulsion and Space (EduQual Level 5)

The course is delivered as an online engineering course, consisting of two 20 credit units. The first unit is a recommended unit which is designed to deliver some fundamental learning required to progress onto the second, specific core unit.

Unit 1: Engineering Maths (recommended*)
In this unit covers the fundamentals of mathematics required for successful completion of the specialised unit. You will be brought up to speed with algebras, trigonometry, statistics and basic calculus. If you already hold a mathematics qualification you may be eligible to choose an alternate unit.

Unit 2: Aerodynamics, Propulsion and Space (core)
In this specialised aerodynamics unit, you will examine the principles of incompressible flow which are then are applied to aerofoils, wings and whole aircraft. A review of drag and its minimisation is then studied. Propulsion is considered by examining the gas turbine engine and its principles of operation. Finally, high speed flows including transonic, supersonic and space flight are considered.

* The recommended unit can be replaced by a different unit of your choice depending on your personal preference, or previous learning experience.

Course Information

The course is comprised of two units, ‘Introduction to Civil Engineering Projects’ and ‘Renewable Energy’. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive the qualification of:

Diploma in Sustainable Construction (EduQual Level 5)

In the Introduction to Civil Engineering Projects unit, you’ll learn about the fundamental principles of civil engineering projects, including planning, design, and construction of infrastructure. You’ll explore topics such as site analysis, project management, and risk assessment.

In the second unit, Renewable Energy, you’ll dive into the world of sustainable energy management, including renewable energy technologies and sustainable building design. You’ll examine the practical aspects of energy management including the environmental and economical implications of using renewable energy resources, and explore the challenges and opportunities that exist in the field of sustainable construction such as the evaluation of alternative heating methods for buildings.
