Welcome to our Diploma in the Internet of Things (IoT). This 40-credit course at level 5 is designed to provide students with the essential skills and knowledge required to thrive in the rapidly growing field of IoT.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will gain the qualification of:
Diploma in the Internet of Things (EduQual Level 5)
Diploma in Aircraft Design is a 40 credit course leading to the qualification of:
Diploma in Aircraft Design (EduQual Level 5)
The course is delivered as an online engineering course, consisting of two 20 credit units. The first unit is a recommended unit which is designed to deliver some fundamental learning required to progress onto the second, specific core unit.
Unit 1: Engineering Science (recommended*) – the aim of this unit is to develop your skills in scientific principles and theories that underpin the broader engineering curriculum. You will be introduced to scientific methods and techniques to analyse and solve problems within an engineering context including the analysis of heat, fluids and materials.
Unit 2: Aircraft Design and Manufacture (core) – in this highly specialised unit, you will examine the overall aircraft design process before undertaking a design exercise where you will be encouraged to explore the variety of aircraft configurations. You will then select an appropriate configuration to satisfy a given design brief. You will then be guided through a simulated design synthesis process which will involve you selecting and calculating various design parameters to satisfy a given design brief. Your design activities will focus on the propulsion and wing design. Finally, you will examine the principles of manufacturing that are specific to the aerospace industry.
* The recommended unit can be replaced by a different unit of your choice depending on your personal preference, or previous learning experience.
